Lamb Burgers with Shepards Salad and Homemade Tzaziki Sauce

Lamb is a flavorful meat used frequently in Mediterranean cooking , but not nearly as popular as it should be in the United States. Lamb is an excellent source of high quality protein, B Vitamins and minerals such as zinc and selenium. The higher fat content of this meat is in the form as CLA ( conjugated linoleic acid) a healthy fat that actually is suggested by recent research to be cancer fighting and fat fighting. I personally love lamb any way I can get it and I hope after you try this recipe you will love it as much as I do.


2lbs ground lamb

¼ cup feta cheese shredded

2 tbsp. curry powder

1 tbsp garlic powder

1 clove fresh garlic grated

1tbsp black pepper

Pinch salt

Handful parsely

1 tsp red pepper paste

1 egg

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl until thoroughly incorporated. Form into burgers bake 350 for 20-30 minutes.

Shepards Salad

5 vine ripened tomatoes, heirloom tomatoes are best. Chopped small

2 Kirby cucumbers diced

¼ large red onion sliced very thin

Salt Pepper

Feta cheese ( 1/4. cup)

Extra Virgin Olive oil

Apple cider vinegar

1 clove garlic grated

Add all the ingredients and allow to sit at room temp. for 20 minutes

Tazizki sauce

2 cups greek non fat yogurt

Small piece of cucumber grated

1clove garlic grated



Add all ingedients and let sit 10 minutes

Place salad on dish, place one burger over the salad and add taziki sauce. Enjoy.
